Biography
William G. Holmes joined the firm in December 2025 as an Associate. Mr. Holmes brings extensive litigation experience to the firm, with a focus on criminal defense in Superior Court and Municipal Court matters. He manages court appearances, motion arguments, the research and drafting of motions and memoranda of law, and trials.
In December 2025, he was appointed Vineland Municipal Public Defender.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Holmes served as a Deputy Attorney General in the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, Division of Criminal Justice, from April 2023 to November 2025. He worked in the Major Threats Unit and participated in the prosecution of major drug trafficking organizations, including a long-term investigation involving electronic surveillance that led to charges against fourteen individuals for weapons offenses and roles in a drug trafficking conspiracy in State v. Collins et al.
Before his service at the Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Holmes was an Assistant Prosecutor with the Salem County Prosecutor’s Office from December 2014 to April 2023. He managed juvenile, contempt, narcotics, and adult criminal cases and served as lead trial attorney in high-profile homicide prosecutions.
He secured convictions as first chair in State v. Hakeem Williams for murder and kidnapping, and in State v. Ordale Telfair for murder, resulting in a 60-year sentence.
Mr. Holmes has substantial experience litigating complex and high-pressure criminal cases. Earlier in his career, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Mary K. White in the Family Part of the New Jersey Superior Court, Gloucester County, and gained additional prosecutorial and defense experience in other prosecutor’s offices and private practice.
In addition to his legal career, Mr. Holmes served as Managing Editor of BoxingInsider.com from 2011 to 2020 and is a contributing columnist for TheBlaze.com.
